At 5 o’clock in the Jan­u­ary freez­ing morn­ing Paweł Althamer, well known polish visual artist, invited the the­atre audi­ence for an excur­sion to a very unex­pected place in Warsaw – the bal­cony around the clock at the top of Palace of Cul­ture (‘Warsaw Com­mu­nist Big Ben’). This bal­cony is at the same time the very center of the city but also an empty hole in the heart of Warsaw, high enough to have total silence and where wild birds have their nests.

Par­tic­i­pants of an early trip were sup­posed to wait for a sunrise. During winter time it is dif­fi­cult though to spot it behind heavy clouds. Public was given air­plane blan­kets and a cup of coffee to warm them up. A parallel action was taking place in Foksal Gallery Foun­da­tion - a couple was having a hard quar­rel. She was about to jump out of the window. He tried to pre­vent. Althamer was seeing the dra­matic sit­u­a­tion from the Palace of Cul­ture and called the police. A careful observer could follow the whole event through the tele­scope. Once again the dra­maturgy of the action laid in the social energy and cre­ative­ness of the public.
